Leggings: You Either Love ‘em or you Hate ‘em…

  • … so let’s learn to LOVE ‘EM! I personally am a huge fan of leggings for the following reasons: they are easy to wear, they are versatile, and with the right outfit- they always look extremely chic. Many women shy away from leggings in fear of doing it wrong, which is the exact reason I am writing this post! No need to dodge leggings anymore with this comprehensive list of leggings do’s & don’ts.
  • Please share with us any of your tips to wearing leggings as well!
  • how to wear leggings
  • + Do wear leggings with dresses, skirts, and VERY long tops (otherwise known as a tunics).
  • + Don’t wear leggings as pants, mainly because they aren’t pants- they are meant to layer under other pieces. Wearing a short shirt with leggings is an absolute no-no, not only because it is unattractive, but chances are you will also see your bum when you hit the sun (leggings are usually a bit on the sheer side).
  • + Do play with printed leggings. Floral leggings are all the rage right now, and look really great with an over-sized tee and cute boots! Yet I must say, be careful with this “do” because too bright or too patterned tights could have you looking like a grown up kid.
  • + Don’t wear vinyl leggings (unless you are playing dress up). There is nothing chic about a bright silver pair of leggings…
  • + Do know the difference between tights and leggings. Tights have a foot and are usually very sheer, leggings are thicker and footless.
  • + Don’t wear thick leggings as pants either. We already talked about this subject, but please don’t make an excuse that your leggings are thick enough to be considered pants simply because… they can’t.
  • + Do wear leggings with sandals, boots, heels, and (cute) sneakers.
  • + Don’t wear leggings with running shoes/ workout shoes.
  • + Do choose an ankle length legging, ones that cut higher up at the calves aren’t so cute (they also could make your calf look bigger than it is).
