New York Fashion Week: Katie Gallagher

  • For Katie Gallagher’s show we worked with local nail designer Casey Herman to create a look she called “Chasing Dragonflies”.  We used a sheer coat of Sienna (a muted gold metalic – which we also used at Richard Chai Love), but this time we used Brandt (black crème) and Juliette (white crème) to create a wing effect.  We also created a gradient ombre effect with Sienna and Emma and the third look featured netting for texture that echoed the netting used in Katie’s designs.
  • It was fun to create nail looks that were so creative & working with Casey Herman was such a blast.  I did not posses half her poise and inner strength when I was her age.  (Let’s just say I am quite a bit older and leave it at that).
  • One of my favorite backstage moments was watching the nail wings flutter across a model’s cell phone as she texted away.
