While Melissa may be marketed as a topcoat, I’ve found it to be even more versatile and useful in nail art! I painted my nails with two coats of Charlotte (although, as its a creme, I could have gotten away with just one coat) the used a long striper brush to create alternating stripes of opalescent Melissa.

I also tried using a thicker brush to apply the stripes of Melissa, and I liked the way the stripes blended together – it was a twist on the traditional “topcoat application” and reminded me of the inside of a mussel shell on the beach!
