Ever wonder what nail shape would be the most natural on you? The answer depends on the natural shape of your eponychium, commonly called the cuticle. Look at your overall shape of the cuticle excluding the thumb (thumbs are most likely to be square) and shape your free edge accordingly.
What is an Eponychium?
+ The narrow band of epidermis, commonly called cuticle, which creates a protection barrier from harmful pathogens (germs).
What is the free edge?
+ The outermost extension of the nail plate that is on opposite ends with the cuticle- the part that you would most likely cut or file.
