the perfect ponytail

Pony Tip #1: Clean hair makes for the perfect ponytail as it provides a better “stick”. Also, if your hair is a bit damp before you tie it up, it will pull back those pesky layers & they will dry in a way so that they don’t escape.

Pony Tip #2: Straight hair is ideal when putting up your hair, so after you clean it, makes sure it is straight by using your blow dryer or your flat iron.

Pony Tip #3: Pick a part. Prior to putting your hair up decide if you want it slicked back, parted in the middle, or parted to one side. Parted to one side with side swept bangs works well with a side pony, high ponies look great slicked back, and low ponies are fabulous with a center part.

Pony Tip #4: Don’t be scared of bobby pins! If you can’t tame some stray hairs, bobby pins are a great quick fix. Get some pins that are the same color as your hair, and no one will even notice!

Pony Tip #5: Choose a quality hair elastic. Using a hair tie without special coating or ones that have metal could snag your hair, which will cause damage. Try finding a hair tie that is gentle on hair, yet also tight enough to hold that pony in place.

Pony Tip #6: Smooth it out. After your ponytail is complete, grab some argan oil & smooth it over your hair. This will provide for a sleek & clean pony and will help control any annoying flyaway hairs.

Pony Tip #7: Accessorize your pony using a fun bow or even a metal hair cuff. A little flair will turn a boring pony into something fun & fashionable.
