Okay, so once summer hits…. my skin always gets super dry, and when my skin gets dry- my cuticles start acting up. If you have ever had a hangnail, you know how pesky it can be. Good news for all of us, I have finally learned how to effectively manage annoying hangnails and keep your nails looking healthy, all while sleeping!

Two more things to help you take proper care of your cuticles:
- Don’t cut your cuticles. Cutting away your cuticle can cause damage to your nail & can create infection. That piece of skin is actually a protective barrier that you don’t want to mess with. Instead, as mentioned above, push back your cuticles with an orange stick.
- Use a quality cuticle oil everyday and night. This will keep your cuticles soft and in good shape!

Great advice!
Soaking your nails and cuticles in olive oil for about 15 minutes once a week helps to keep cuticles soft and healthy, but also puts moisture back into the nails. Especially good if your are finally getting rid of acrylics and/or taking a break from any of the gel systems out there.

I did this with coconut oil, which does not go well with microwaves-made some pretty odd sounds-and it worked fine. I put my hands in socks and sat on my hands and watched TV for like 25 minutes..Worked just fine:)
