Once summer hits, pastel colors come out to play in full force. Whenever I see these soft and fun colors, the first thought that comes to my mind is always ice cream. Lemony yellows, mint greens, pastel pinks & purples, and creamy corals are all great reminders of my childhood and waiting for the infamous bell of the ice cream truck on a hot summer day.
Does anyone else have the same nostalgia I do when they see some of these fabulous hues?

Strawberry Pink: For the perfect pink nail, try Julep’s Carrie Bombshell color. As mentioned in a previous post, matching your lips and nails is a huge beauty trend for 2012- so grab some MAC Snob lipstick as well.
Lemon Yellow: The ultimate summer hue, yellow is one of my most favorite colors to wear on my nails (try Julep’s Boho Glam Blake), and it is also one of my most favored colors in my makeup arsenal. Yellow gets rid of redness, so I always use the Too Faced Lemon Drop Eye Shadow Primer as it preps my lids for makeup & makes me look more bright-eyed and awake.
Mint Chip Green: Minty nails with matching mint shadow is a great look that will make you look fresh and ready for a night out on the town, or a day at the beach. My personal favorite minty picks are Julep’s American Beauty Courteney polish and NYX green eyeshadow.
Marshmallow White: Some say it’s “vanilla”, but this color is far from dull. White polish is usually reserved for french manicures only, but little do many people now- it looks great as an all over color (try Brigitte). The other white hot trend is to swap out your black eyeliner for a white one, this will make your eyes pop like they never have before!
Blue Raspberry: Yummy! Step out of your comfort zone with a bright blue color and you will really stand out from the crowd. Try using It Girl Claire on your toes and nails, while pairing it with some electric powder blue shadow (or you can also use it as a colored liner).
Creamy Tangerine: Hottest beauty trend around, coral polish & lip gloss! Fashionista’s and beauty critics everywhere are head over heels for all shades of coral, so it is obviously worth a try. To get this look, try Julep’s adorable It Girl Hayden and Lancome’s coral juicy tube.
