make up tips

+ “Get lip color to last all day by applying lipstick with a lip brush and topping with a coat of translucent powder — three times in a row. It won’t budge. You can top with gloss if you’d like.” – Amy Nadine, head makeup artist for Mark

+ “To make skin glow as if you’ve been drinking 10 glasses of water a day, highlight cheekbones with a frosted off-white shadow.” – Gregory Arlt, makeup artist for MAC

+ ”In terms of foundation coverage, the sheerest application is with fingers, then a brush, then a sponge.” –Tom Pecheux for Estee Lauder

+ ”Put on mascara first, then it’ll be easier to see how far out you should draw with liner.” -Sarah Lucero for Stila Cosmetics

+ “If you use a quarter tablespoon of vinegar in your shampoo, it will act as a natural clarifying shampoo to remove buildup from product.” -Ted Gibson, celebrity hairstylist

+ “For fast, flawless skin, always do all eye makeup first. Because excess eyeshadow falls under the eyes, it’s easier to wipe off the mess on bare skin and then apply your normal concealer or foundation. It’s a bigger headache to try to blend fallen eyeshadow onto made-up skin.” – Mai Quynh, celebrity makeup artist
